CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) Service Provider

Service Provider certification indicates expert level knowledge in the fundamentals of IP technologies as well as specialised knowledge in at least one of the networking areas specific to service providers, including Dial, DSL, Cable, Optical, WAN Switching, IP Telephony and Content Networking. A CCIE in Service Provider, IP Telephony is considered a core IP expert with a high degree of VoIP literacy. This contrasts with a CCIE in Voice who is considered a VoIP expert, but not necessarily an expert in the infrastructure over which the VoIP solution is implemented.

Prerequisites:

There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification. Instead, candidates are expected to have an indepth understanding of the subtleties, intricacies and challenges of end-to-end networking.

The delegate is strongly encouraged to have 3-5 years of job experience before attempting certification.

To obtain your CCIE, you must first pass a written qualification exam and then a corresponding hands-on lab exam.
